Spirit of Independence Events Announced
Holidays are always special in Verrado. This year’s Spirit of Independence bursts with traditions that are sure to wow and delight. Some events and activities require pre-registration and separate wristbands, so you’ll need to log onto your Residents Portal at www.Verrado.com. My wife and I are celebrating our 49th anniversary this 4th of July and will certainly be taking in our spectacular fireworks over Verrado’s Founder’s Golf Course driving range.
July 3
Bike Decorating Party | 5 – 6:30 p.m. | The Center on Main
Stop by to deck out your ride with provided supplies, and feel free to bring additional flair. Plus, be sure to treat yourself to some sweet goodies! Thank you to Thrive Swim & Ride Shop for sponsoring this event!
Dive in Movie | “The Sandlot” | 8 – 10 p.m. | Heritage Swim Park
We’re going to hit it out of the park with this kick-off event. Come out and enjoy the family flick, “The Sandlot.” You don’t need to register, but remember that pool rules apply. Thank you to BrightView for sponsoring a cool treat during the movie.
July 4
Independence Day Walk ‘n’ Wheel | 8 – 9:30 a.m. | The Center on Main parking lot
All non-electric wheels are welcome. Decorate your bikes, trikes, scooters, rollerblades, strollers, and wagons in this low-paced walk on Main Street around Village Green. Participants must register and agree to the waiver.
If you’re participating in the parade, please also bring candy to distribute along the route.
Fireworks over Verrado | 7 – 9:15 p.m. | Verrado Golf Club driving range
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to the driving range for the fireworks display over Verrado. Capacity is limited, and the area will be fenced; pre-registration and wristbands are required.
The entrance opens at 7 p.m. for the 9 p.m. fireworks display. Please do not arrive earlier than 7 p.m.
Frios Popsicle Cart will have delicious treats for sale, and the VHS cheerleaders will sell water and Fourth of July merch.
Capacity will be reached early so register ASAP!
