The Verrado Marketplace “Coming Soon” sign teases us every day we drive by that we must wait until 2025 to start enjoying all the new restaurants, shops, movie theaters, and performance spaces coming to our community. UGH! But, if you are willing to venture 10 miles to our east, you’ll soon be able to enjoy a plethora of brand-new dining options at downtown Goodyear’s GSQ Civic Center & Entertainment District on McDowell Rd between Pebble Creek Pkwy and Bullard Rd at 150th Drive.
The city anticipates six to eight restaurants will open along 150th Drive, including The Stillery, an established hotspot for live country music and moonshine drinks, new locations of Shake Shack and The Yard Milkshake Bar, a seafood restaurant and Copper & Sage Gastropub from Westside Concepts. Here’s the rundown on the six announced restaurants coming:
The Stillery
The Stillery is a Tennessee-based restaurant and bar that serves American comfort food and features live music acts every night. Its menu consists of Mason jar cocktails, pizza and sandwiches. This will be the restaurant’s third Arizona location and it is expected to open in late 2023.
“There’s nothing yet like this to do in Goodyear,” said The Stillery co-owner James Sampley in a November news release. “I’m excited to bring that to everybody, meet people on the West Side of the Valley and have some fun!”

Copper & Sage Gastropub
Valley restauranteur Joey Lucidi of Westside Concepts, the force behind Cantina Gueros and The Haymaker, announced his third Goodyear restaurant will be a new gastropub concept coming in early 2024. Details about Copper & Sage Gastropub are mostly still under wraps, but the restaurant’s website describes the menu as “an exquisite blend of flavors and textures that will take your taste buds on a journey” and hints at traditional Southern dishes as well as other “innovative creations.” BTW, a new Copper & Sage Gastropub will also be opening in Verrado’s brand new Sunrise Market sometime in 2024.

The Yard Milkshake Bar
Locally-owned dessert restaurant The Yard Milkshake Bar will open in downtown Goodyear just north of 150th Drive and McDowell in either spring or summer 2024. The Yard offers extravagant milkshakes topped with cookies, doughnuts, candy and more. They also make their own edible cookie dough, which can be served in an ice cream bowl, as a cookie dough pop or for purchase in a pint-sized souvenir jar.

Shake Shack
Shake Shack, the New York-based chain known for its hamburgers and milkshakes, is set to open a new location at GSQ. The new restaurant will total 3,437 square feet and include a drive-thru – unique for the chain. It’s expected to open by the fall or end of 2024. Shake Shack has a huge cult-like following and has great burgers, chicken, fries, and of course ‘to-die-for’ milk shakes. Cold beer, custard cups, and doggie treats, to boot!

High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill
There aren’t many places in the West Valley where you can have a nice seafood experience, but that is about to change as High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill is the latest restaurant announced at GSQ. Known for its exuberant menu, which includes a seafood tower, King crab, oysters, mussels and more, High Tide will offer an upscale dining experience including freshly-prepared seafood dishes and plenty of wine options. Projected to open in fall 2024.
