Event Description
Veterans Day and Canadian Remembrance Day
Join us at the Village Green flagpole to honor both Veterans Day and Canadian Remembrance Day, saluting the brave American and Canadian veterans who have served our countries.
Verrado resident George Cannelos, Brig Gen (Ret.), will lead the ceremony. Chris Toale, Verrado’s Executive Director and a veteran himself, will share opening remarks to begin the ceremony.
The local Scouts will then lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Ray Door, who will provide patriotic music throughout the event. Aspen Steele, also a Verrado resident, will proudly sing the National Anthem.
The Luke Honor Guard will conduct the flag-lowering ceremony, and Peter and Helen O’Grady will present a meaningful Remembrance Day tribute.
Guest speaker, Ty Doolittle — Verrado resident, former Marine, and founder of the Serving First Responders Foundation — will share his reflections on service and community.
In support of the day, members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will be present. You can learn more about their organization at vfw.org
ACE Hometown Hardware will also host a flag collection box for those wishing to properly retire old flags, and will provide complimentary water for attendees.
