Grab your hiking boots and mark your calendar for the Patriot Day Memorial Climb on the morning of Sept. 11. Participants will head up and down Trail 340 at their own pace to honor first responders who gave their lives on 9/11.

It’s $35 to participate, plus you’ll get a commemorative T-shirt. Proceeds go to the United Buckeye Firefighter Charities, Local L4311, and the Buckeye Police Association. A total of 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority officers perished on Sept. 11, 2001. Make the climb to honor their sacrifices and support local first responders.

• Registration heats will occur every 15 minutes starting at 5:00 a.m. Register for your preferred heat, then meet us at Trail 340 at your designated time the day of the event to check in; the trail is located at the north end of Verrado Way.
• At 5:30 a.m. there will be a brief bell-ringing ceremony, which will begin with the honor guards’ posting of colors.
• There will be no parking at the event, so please consider alternative modes of transportation. A shuttle van will run continuously from The Center on Main, and the dirt parking lot at The Victory Club to the trailhead for your convenience. This service will be available throughout the entire duration of the event to ensure convenient and easy transportation for all participants.

Note: This tribute isn’t considered a race — you’re invited to do the climb at your own pace, and completion of all steps is not required to participate.

Commemorative t-shirts
Climb participants that reserve a time slot will receive a t-shirt. Available sizes are men’s small through 2XL. All sizes are available on a first come first serve basis.

Wristband & t-shirt pick-up
Wristbands & T-shirts must be picked up during the following dates and times at The Center on Main (4239 N. Village Street, Buckeye, 85396):
Monday, Sept. 1 – Friday, Sept. 5 | 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Can’t make it on the day of the memorial?
Hike the trail anytime between Sept. 11 – Sept. 13 and submit a photo taken during your climb. For those participating in the climb, feel free to share a photo, too. All those who submit an image will be entered to win a basket filled with local vendor swag. A random winner will be chosen on Thursday, Sept. 18 and notified via email.
