Proud of your exceptional barbecue skills? Have the best secret sauce? Then compete in Verrado’s Founder’s Day BBQ Rib Competition hosted by Tara Mckenna, Granite Park Leader. The competition will take place March 24 during the Verrado Founder’s Day Picnic.

Details
- Competition is at The Center on Main.
- Open to all Verrado residents.
- Competitors may arrive at 6 a.m. the day of the event to set up.
- Participants receive a predetermined 10′ x 10′ space.
- All entrants must provide their own BBQ, canopy tent and supplies; no open flames permitted under a canopy.
- First through third prize trophies will be awarded.
Rules
- Pork ribs only, either baby back or spare.
- All cooking must be done on premise. No pre-cooking prior to arrival; prior prepping and trimming is allowed.
- Both propane and charcoal cooking is acceptable.
- Turn-in boxes will be provided and must be used for turning in ribs in to the judges.
- Turn in time is 12:00 p.m. sharp, no exceptions. There will be an official clock.
- One rib per judge will need to be turned in; one entry per person.
- Ribs will be judged for appearance, taste and texture.
