Rumors are true…new retailers confirmed for Verrado. In a May 2023 Verrado Leadership meeting, City Councilman Clay Goodman confirmed new retailers and commercial development coming to the Verrado area. Here’s what we know:
-
In ‘N’ Out Burgers – long rumored but now confirmed that CA’s beloved burger chain will be building its new restaurant at the intersection of Verrado Way and Roosevelt Road. We’ll let you know an ETA once we hear.
-
Raising Cane’s Chicken – another rumor turns out to be true. Cane’s will be located near In ‘N’ Out at the intersection of Verrado Way and Roosevelt Road. We’ll let you know an ETA once we hear.
Costco Center
NE corner of Roosevelt Rd & Verrado Way. The walls are up, the ceiling is in place, the parking lot paved, and the Gas Station getting finished. Officially looking at a July 16 opening but rumor has it they may be ahead of schedule and a potential late June opening may be in the works. Expect to see a flurry of activity with new retailers scrambling to be located nearby once Costco officially opens. At any rate, Costco is hiring right now for this location.
Verrado Marketplace Update
All Verrado Marketplace retailers, restaurants, and shops will open on the same day – currently targeted for the fall in 2025 with construction beginning during Q3 2024. The 500,000 sq ft center will feature 50 to 60 stores, restaurants, and other venues, similar to both the Desert Ridge Marketplace and Tempe Marketplace, just a tad smaller. Here’s some of the bigger tenants confirmed for our new Verrado Marketplace East off Verrado Way:
-
Town Entertainment Center – It’s not going to replace our fabulous Main Street area, but this Marketplace amenity will be hosting lots of free events and festive happenings, almost every day of the week, including live music, community events, art festivals, fitness classes and more.
-
Harkin’s Movie Theater – Who doesn’t love Arizona’s homegrown movie chain? They’ve got the best theaters, premiere movies, food, popcorn, and more. Did you know that the Harkins Theater in Goodyear is their biggest grossing movie house in all of Arizona?
-
Super Target Center – It’ll be big, it’ll have lots of everything, and its coming to Verrado. Most probably a new CVS will be located within its walls—but our favorite Main Street CVS reigns as one of their most profitable locations so don’t expect to see it replaced any time soon.
- Basha’s Supermarket – Basha has first option to build a new supermarket in the new Marketplace, but still not confirmed that they’ve exercised their option. But no matter what they do, we’ll have a brand-new big supermarket in the hood next year. And we are all fantasizing what will go into Basha’s Main St location if indeed they move to the Marketplace. AJ’s, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s? Now wouldn’t that be grand!
