Wednesday’s (Jan 18) landscaping meeting was conducted over ZOOM with over 140 Verrado residents participating to discuss Gothic Landscaping’s performance in maintaining our community. Bottom line consensus: “Gothic is deplorable.”
On the plus side, instead of just debating the issue, the Board, chaired by Dan Kelly, unanimously acted to terminate Gothic’s contract with 75 days notice. Gothic’s quality of services never lived up to Verrado’s community standards that we’ve all come to expect.
The goal is to have a new landscaping company (or several companies) to be in place no later than April 1, coinciding with the Valley’s planting season. Here’s the plan:
- RFP’s (request for proposals) to be revised in the next 10 days and sent to local landscapers
- Responses due back before end of February
- Landscaping Committee will hold a public meeting for residents to attend to discuss and review the proposals
- Landscaping Committee will make recommendations to the Verrado Board.
- Board to approve by March so a new landscaping company can be operational within 30 days in April
I was on the zoom call and was impressed by the level of participation, straight talk, and professionalism from the participating residents, the Committee, and the Board. We live in a fantastic community and hopefully it will begin looking fantastic once again.
GET INVOLVED: Be sure to check your Verrado Residents website or speak to your Neighborhood Leader (contact info on the Verrado website) about how you can participate on the Verrado Board. Nominations will be due by end of January and all residents will have the opportunity to vote on board members. Our gratitude goes out to those residents that have stepped up over the years to spend their time and efforts in keeping Verrado the way we all like it to be and to future participants.
